Republican senator claims 'the left' will start a civil war unless federal highway system abolished

We are ruled by monsters and fools.

IAN MILLHISER NOV 15, 2018, 4:23 PM

On Thursday, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) delivered a speech to the conservative Federalist Society that would have been more at home on Alex Jones’ radio show than at a gathering of many of the most powerful lawyers and judges in the country.

In it, Lee warned of a brewing civil war, and claimed that the only way to avert violence would be to eradicate a long list of federal programs including “the interstate highway system,” funding for “K through 12 public education,” “federal higher education accreditation,” “early childhood education, the Department of Commerce,” “housing policy, workforce regulation,” and what Lee labeled the “huge glut of federally owned land.”

Seriously, this is not hyperbole. A sitting United States senator actually said these things. You can watch the entire speech here.

Lee, who also believes that federal child labor laws, Social Security, and Medicare are unconstitutional, claimed in his speech that America faces a stark choice — “federalism or violence.”

The one that made us more interconnected than we had ever been. Hey, Mike, make the case for how our greatest general in WW2, who actually understood the sacrifice millions of Americans made in WW2 did not deserve the benefits that Dwight Davide Eisenhower totally understood when he led Americans through the slaughter of WW2. He was a Socialist, right Mike?

I finally get why my Mom was a Republican...she got what DDE did to save this nation. Maybe I'd have been a Republican in 1950 too....

definitely suffering from mad cow disease. Statements like this are so clearly over-the-top and just downright crazy that I begin to think the Trumpster's mental dysfunction is contagious.

Maybe our first order of business is ordering the CDC to work on a vaccine. Because this sort of thinking is deadly in the 21st Century. We cannot 'go back,' anymore than we can become young and stupid again.

Lee needs a vaccine and/or a long stretch on a shrink's couch. These statements--interstate highways or funding for K-12 education, etc = increased percentages of civil outrage and violence?

IS CRAY-CRAY AND DEMENTED.

Lee needs a time out and a juicy cup. Then a slap upside the head.

Ugh!

7. So the Dems will start a civil war unless people do the exact opposite of what the Dems want?

Honestly, I'm amazed every day at how much more stupid the people who vote for republicans are than I thought they were.

Start now. Find out where "the bodies are buried".
Expose them daily. Make them think twice about attempting to be re-elected.
This is do - or - die time, people.

Fortunately, Democrats appear to have caught on (at last) to these fledgling lunacies. Spread this nonsense far and wide, and make sure that Senator Cuckoobananas is securely tied to it.
