It's possible the 2020 election may rhyme with the 1932 election.

When FDR was elected the Republican party had been wrecked by the great depression. It took the Republicans 20 years to regain the Whitehouse. Trump may wreck the Republican party as badly as the great depression.

We have seen just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Trumps corruption and crimes. The Republican party went along with all the corruption and crimes. It is going to shock the American people when everything is exposed. The corruption is off the charts. The number of crimes is off the charts. The Republican party truly is the party of Trump. That's how they will remembered for years to come.

Good luck trying to win elections as you are called the party of Trump.

they can when Democrat comes to power. Make things unbearable for the average voter so they vote them right back into power every few years. Between this being the United States of Amnesia and the bullshit media being all to willing to prop up this grotesque zombie party - death cult. We can always see the slightest progress getting rolled back.

I would have more confidence if the rest of the citizenry wasn't so goddamn apathetic. That's going to be our downfall.

Not to mention the Koch’s and the rest of the big money propaganda donors.

It’s like the 1930s alright. But in Germany. Half the population thinks facts are lies. Half the population thinks people telling the truth are crazy.

FDR pushed through bold progressive legislation. That’s what crippled the repigs. Not tepid “we are better than them” rhetoric. Progressive legislation (when we get some power) is our only chance.

We gave people Obamacare. As imperfect as it is, the pre-existing condition clause still gave the voters something to vote FOR this cycle. That’s why the repigs tried to strangle it in its crib - they know once government works for people they are screwed.

1933 O'l Prescott Bush and his cronies tried to get rid of FDR and his new deal for a more
"business friendly" Nazi government... Some anecdotal evidence shows that's how he got the new deal thru the congress... Pass it or go against the wall for treason...Thanks to Gen Butler for blowing the whistle... This info is in the library of congress also..

Trump right now has a strong economy to buoy support. When this economy starts to go south, his support will drop by 10+ points and there is no amount of finger pointing that will save the GOP.

But the facts are that the voters will know 100% this is Trump’s economy when it heads south.

It's difficult to imagine how the Republican Party does not pay a huge price for their support of Donald Trump and his politics of hate and division.

They ran against Jimmy Carter for more than 20 years and for the most part it worked. Trump is on the way to ruining the country, Gov't, and rep party, that we may be able to do they same.

The 2008 election gave complete control to the Dems, and I remember Rachel Maddow telling us not to underestimate the resolve of the Republicans...they were now like cornered animals, and they're always dangerous. However, I really think Trump has done SO much damage to the brand that it's foundation has been cracked. The party is going to have to be completely rebuilt.

My (useless) prediction...IF he doesn't quit or stroke out between now and 2020, Republicans will finally realize what an anchor he is, and will challenge him in the primaries. If it looks like he won't get the nomination, he'll form the "Trump" party, and split the Republicans wide open. And then hopefully they'll go the way of the "Know Nothings", The Federalists, and The Whigs. And The Constitution will be safe again.

is going on. There are so many people who have no idea what is going on...ZERO. Then we got the folks who know but can't stand it so they are tuning the fool out.

When the news seeps out to these masses and it's going to be delivered in a neat package with a bow......- this muthafuck is gonna be DONE.

Oct 2017 did not mirror Oct 1929.

Unless the econmy crashes between now and 2020, I don't see it happening.

It also took years of bad regulations for the economy to crash. Consumers gradually engaged in risky behavior over time.

I'm not seeing that happening in the near future. I could be wrong...something unforeseen could happen, but if things are status quo, I don't see the economy crashing.
