You can donate at the Salvation Army Del Oro Branch in Northern California.

I donated $20 and paid the handling charges which was .75 cents so the fire victims can get the entire $20.
I also donated $20 to The North Valley Animal Disaster Group. The donation goes directly to them.
Its a small amount, but these amounts add up to a lot.
The community of Paradise was completely destroyed and Chico is taking all the people in. Many thousands are living in parking lots and its overwhelming all the charities and volunteers.
Please keep this thread kicked.

(621 posts)You can donate directly through them to (I believe) 8 different organizations that are dealing with various issues related to the fires, to volunteer firefighters, temporary homes for evacuated people, emergency funding for people who have lost everything, animal rescue, etc.
I dont have much, but I donated to a few. PayPal pays all fees.

Thanks!
My friends in Oakland and Berkeley are having to stay home because the air quality is the worst on record.
Years ago I read a report done by climatology professors in UC Berkeley that said this was exactly what would happen with climate change. The coast would stay pretty much the same but the interior of the state would end up destroyed by fire because of the drought. I read the article in the last 10 or 15 years ago. There have been major fires every year lately.

https://www.nvadg.orgFinally reached the donation link (it was down a bit) and donated $15 this morning. As you said, "every amount matters."
John Kerry said that tRump's pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord will cause deaths. People are going to die. They are, Mr. Secretary, they are.

(53,410 posts)Its actually good news if donation websites are having trouble staying up. It means the traffic is very heavy.
