Republicans just aren't serious about reforming entitlements

Oh, the irony...

For the first time since at least the 1990s congress cut some unnecessary spending from Medicare—spending that every "serious person" in Washington had been calling to be axed for ages—and did so in a way that did not harm anyone on Medicare, and that extended the life of the Medicare trust fund by eight years.

Both parties voted for this cut.

228 House Republicans voted for this cut in the Ryan budget.

219 House Democrats voted for this cut in the ACA.

And the Republican nominee now wants it added back in!

I hope the inside-the-beltway "serious persons" will be lamenting the obvious fact that Republicans just aren't serious about reforming entitlements... but I shall not be holding my breath.
