Jay Carney: "One place I would not go for advice on vice presidential running mates is Sen. McCain"

He's got a point:

During a Fox News interview on Wednesday, McCain suggested that it "might be wise" for Obama to run with Hillary Clinton this time around, since Vice President Joseph Biden has a propensity for putting his foot in his mouth. McCain, of course, tapped Sarah Palin as his running mate in his failed bid for the White House in 2008.

During his Thursday briefing, Carney said McCain isn't one to talk about picking vice presidents.

"One place I would not go for advice on vice presidential running mates is Sen. McCain," Carney said to laughs and groans.
