What I'm thankful for

Spending Thanksgiving with my family that is all Democrats. So no pain in the ass relatives or that drunk uncle telling us what day is trash day and Trump is the greatest ever.

Thank the Lord or whatever pasta monster in space.

I know some unfortunate DU'ers aren't so lucky. But remember, smile, be merry since we kicked their asses two weeks ago.

I'm making three pies. Apple, cherry, and peach. A green bean casserole, mac n cheese, and a lot of chocolate chip cookies. I'll be busy.

I'm going to make a vegetarian meal of my favorite side dishes, watch tv and play video games. My family all lives in other states. I will call them all but we won't mention politics. Some of them are still registered republicans.

Crazy cousin which I have that is a Trump loyalist that has been barred from our events if she was in town. Literally everyone has booted her from Facebook. I haven't since I love to argue with her.

We have one crazy aunt but she doesn't align with a party since she's from Italy and doesn't hold permanent citizenship. But she's crazy...I don't know if she'll be there.

Even including extended genetic progeny, we're now about 98 percent Dems. It's sad really that the older relatives now deceased, including my own father met their demise mesmerized into intractable seething hatred of anyone who didn't worship Fox Noise racist narrative. It's an odd irony that the only surviving Trumper I know of de-friended everyone, isolated himself away from all family, was known to have some anger issues and is likely heading for an emotional crash when Trump gets impeached.
He's also the only one in the family that is my age, early Gen-X. I've attempted to reach out to Tim, but never get a reply anymore so I gave up.

Well if they wanna die alone that's their problem. I just wonder what will happen when the cult leader is no longer telling them what to do anymore. Like they'll be lost.

I have wonderful family and friends. Last year I lost my husband and home and car and most belongings to hurricane Irma. And my physical support system has been fantastic.

But at the same time, I have relied so much on my DU family for additional strength and sanity, especially when I just can’t listen to the insane noise on tv.

I’m a bit of a renegade and I’ve gotten my nose slapped for some of my posts, but I’ve always felt that I have been part of a group of people who are honest and caring and loving. It’s my family.

Happy Thanksgiving. And thankful for you all.

I'm sorry about your hubby and losing your belongings in Irma. I missed you post on that and I apologize for that.

Have a happy Thanksgiving.

I lost a lot of faith in humanity in 2016. Winning as big as we did a few weeks ago gave me some of it back.
