(11,631 posts)I mean that Hitler was a pretty swell guy if we just ignore that whole murdering 6 million people and attempted world domination thing.

(7,397 posts)that relationship. Kashoggi was a legal resident of the United States who was murdered. Unlike yourself, he was not surrounded by Secret Service on his visit to the embassy of our great ally. It is the President's job to listen to the CIA and other intelligence sources and pursue the matter.

(14,966 posts)Because what we are supposed to do is, you know, the right thing. Oh, well, maybe YOU don't know, or any of your criminal family.
And, btw, maybe there's a few thousand other reasons why we would want to throw our relationship in the trash anyway *cough* 9/11 *cough*.

(11,885 posts)But coming from a trump is no surprise. Maybe after all is exposed how policies were sold to them, and they personally have profited from them , it'll explains this statement completely.

(41,960 posts)The implied threat and other-ness of journalists is chilling. Theyll move heaven for a preacher or a rich college kid (as they should) but a journalist? Meh.
I could scream.

(5,586 posts)The Saudi's have the ability to crash the world economy, and do we really want them to make friends and replace us with the Russians and Iranians?
I'm not saying we should let MBS walk away with a slap on the wrist, but I think flushing a 60 year relationship down the toilet is an equally bad decision.

(53,776 posts)the admin. did not know this was coming. Remember Kushner went to SA and gave the crown prince an enemies list he had procured from intel. Khashoggi's name was undoubtedly on that list.
Shortly thereafter Kushner's debt on 666 5th Avenue was suddenly paid. In effect, the trump administration signed off on Khashoggi's murder, which coincedently, happened two weeks before Nikki Haley stepped down. She got wind of the murder and didn't want to have her name associated with it.
So if you're ok with the WH being complicit in murder and dismemberment...

(65,010 posts)Because the obvious retort, is "Yes, why not?" It is the responsibility of the person claiming the importance of the relationship to explain why it CAN'T be thrown away.
Of course, that buffoon would be incapable of providing a cogent answer.

(146,288 posts)If you want to be a friend and ally, here's a list of things you can't do. If you do them, I will withdraw my support for you. So, if you value the relationship, you won't do those things. That's how we deal with individuals, and that's how we should deal with nations that are led by individuals.
Simple.
Oh, Eric, by the way. You're a dick. Don't bother me any more.
