He's been saying he warned everybody about bin Laden in his book that came out in 2000.

The actual text says otherwise - he basically mocked Clinton for making bin Laden into the Villain of the Week who'd be replaced by somebody else after a few news cycles.

Part of the paragraph says that nobody had ever heard of bin Laden before 9/11 - but, he was basically public enemy #1 for the US from the "Black Hawk Down" incident in Somalia in 1992-3.
