(7,397 posts)reside in. My reasoning was because they were Democrats and not Republicans. This was my money, not yours. Supporting Pelosi was a second tier issue compared to a Democrat winning an election. Your reasoning makes no sense. That will be handled by Democrats.

(50,949 posts)if she can't win this fight" when there is actually very little chance that she won't win this fight.
I'll be over here not worrying about it, and she'll be over there winning it.
Honestly, it seems like a republican astroturf hair-on-fire bunch of nonsense to me.
We should file it with the caravan.

(4,602 posts)I just dont care. If anyone can beat Pelosi then Id want them to be Speaker. But none of these jokers are that person.
Me.
(35,454 posts)and if we pick up 1-3 more seats, even better. As for Lamb, what a fool, in the year of the woman to buy into Con propaganda. I question his judgment.

(50,949 posts)Me.
(35,454 posts)The 16 signers and lamb bring it up to 17...so let's hope we pick up more seat just for a cushion.

(19,581 posts)He is keeping a promise. Please consider where he comes from and who his constituents are. Western PA has many registered Dems who have voted Republican for years.
I just wanted to be clear where the opposition is coming from. There is a lot of anger over any opposition to Pelosi.

(10,014 posts)Do you really think his constituancy cares about Pelosi when jobs and health care are their prime issues? Were the "no Pelosi" Dems set up by repugs who asked them such nonsense? Were repugs asked if they'll support McConnell?

(9,353 posts)There a lot of things that he espouses that are unpalatable to progressives.
The answer is that he was the only candidate that could be elected as a dem in this district.
It was a hold the nose vote.
If it becomes more blue, then they can support someone better.

(31,261 posts)That kicks the competition to a simple majority. Someone posted on DU that Pelosi has something like 66 more Reps, with 3 races yet to be decided.
The way voting happens on the House floor allows people like Lamb to hold off until results are clear. My guess is if it is close, they vote yes. If Pelosi clearly has it, they vote "Present".
Any democrat that make a republican speaker might as well change parties at that moment, because their days as a democratic Rep are done, they will be taken out in a primary.

(15,286 posts)again in 2020. There are some good Dem women candidates who can run against him in the 2020 Dem primary and will have my support.

(297,196 posts)brainwashed by rw media for years telling them all kinds of Lies about Nancy. Obviously he had to disown her.
Moulton comes from a District that seemingly from last night's town hall actually wants Nancy to be Speaker of the House.

He won't affect the Speaker outcome but its at least good to now know where he stands afterall.
