How complicit is Mitch McConnell ?

As America continues its march towards national suicide, one person stands on the sideline, still enjoying his hold on power after the recent election. He is a one-man monkey show. Hands over his eyes, over his ears, and over his mouth. He is content in his control of the Robot Party.

He has been gently placed in a huge bubble of ignorance, as if he was a ceramic statue.

Yet, he persists. He stands his ground, even as the Republic is under threat.

Is that hyperbole?

His wife is the Secretary of Transportation, his father in law owns a shipping company that may or may not be smuggling drugs into the US, and Putin may have that information!

He was the one who blocked Obama from issuing a bipartisan statement on Russian interference before the election, thus he helped get Trump elected. McConnell was the one who orchestrated blocking Obama from seating Merrick Garland. This led to the seating of two right wing justices on the Supreme Court, with Kavanaugh being the worst. McConnell pushed through the GOP tax scam giving huge tax cuts to the rich. Which is why he supports Trump and will continue to support Trump as long as Trump can hold a pen to sign right wing legislation.

It's not to Country, it's to family and party and the scam they pulled on this country by defrauding the voters of this country big time.

He's proven constantly that he's not for the people of this country by ignoring common sense legislation to protect Mueller's investigations by insisting that it is not needed. He's put in place one of the most ignorant tax cuts in history, done solely for his party's donors. He constantly attacked Barak Obama's efforts in doing anything and became the party of NO NO NO. Remember, fellow DUers?

He's a hypocrite of the lowest caliber, knowing of the shortcomings of rump and cronies, yet still blatantly supports them. He knew of the interference in 2016 by the Russians and did nothing, if anything, ignored the warnings put forth by Barak Obama's administration.

Blavatnik emigrated here with his family in the 70's but still has ties to Russia.

https://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/commentary/2018/05/08/putins-proxies-helped-funnel-millions-gop-campaigns

Data from the Federal Election Commission show that Blavatnik's campaign contributions dating back to 2009-10 were fairly balanced across party lines and relatively modest for a billionaire. During that season he contributed $53,400. His contributions increased to $135,552 in 2011-12 and to $273,600 in 2013-14, still bipartisan.

In 2015-16, everything changed. Blavatnik's political contributions soared and made a hard right turn as he pumped $6.35 million into GOP political action committees, with millions of dollars going to top Republican leaders including Sens. Mitch McConnell, Marco Rubio and Lindsey Graham.

In 2017, donations continued, with $41,000 going to both Republican and Democrat candidates, along with $1 million to McConnell's Senate Leadership Fund.

SNIP

In total, Blavatnik, Intrater, Shustorovich and Kukes made $10.4 million in political contributions from the start of the 2015-16 election cycle through September 2017, and 99 percent of their contributions went to Republicans. With the exception of Shustorovich, the common denominator that connects the men is their association with Vekselberg. Experts who follow the activities of Russian oligarchs told ABC News that they believe the contributions from Blavatnik, Intrater and Kukes warrant intense scrutiny because they have worked closely with Vekselberg.

Even if the donations by the four men associated with Russia ultimately pass muster with Mueller, one still has to wonder: Why did GOP PACs and other Trump-controlled funds take their money? Why didn't the PACs say, "Thanks, but no thanks," like the Republicans said to Shustorovich in 2000? Yes, it was legal to accept their donations, but it was incredibly poor judgment.

McConnell is being overlooked. His wife and her family are as crooked as a dog's hind leg. I wouldn't doubt that McConnell has plenty of rubles stashed neatly away somewhere.

Isn't there a bipartisan Bill that actually may pass that would put sanctions on Saudi Arabia for the killing of the journalist? McConnell won't bring it to the floor and the corporate controlled M$M won't push that narrative. Too bad our M$M doesn't shine a light on cockroach McConnell.

I mean my god, this new acting AG is a flat out crook who was paid 1.2 million dollars by "someone" to kill the Mueller investigation. I hope and pray we have enough good people in Congress when the shit hits the fan. This isn't about politics it's about saving our democracy. It's coming real soon folks.

except where you say, "I hope and pray we have enough good people in Congress when the shit hits the fan."

It has already hit the fan. It is McTurtle that keeps unplugging the fan and allowing this nightmare to continue. It is HIS position as Majority Leader that has stopped the Congress from doing its constitutional duty to provide a legitimate check and balance to the madness that occupies the White House.

as bad as it is now, somehow we will get to see Mueller's report and it is going to be a bombshell. My point is this, the best way out of this Trump dictatorship is through impeachment. We have it covered in the House but will enough Republicans do what is right to save our democracy in the Senate? If what Mueller puts out there is so indefensible it should give cover to enough Republican Senators to do the right thing, and convict. It reminds me of Abraham negotiating with god to find 5 good people to save Sodom and Gemmorah, he couldn't find them, and we need more than 5 good Senators to save our democracy.

but considering what McTurtle has overlooked already from this misadministration, I don't see him doing anything to allow IQ45 to be impeached - nothing, not a step, not even a blink of a consideration, just plain nothing.
And if he does that, it will all die down in 2 days and IQ45 will continue on his ill-meaning process of destroying our democracy.
He must be voted out (if he even runs again - he may "declare victory" and run off to some golf course) and we must regain control of the Senate.

Oligarch money was funneled into his superpac and it was he who stopped Obama from releasing intel about Russian hacking, pre-election, promising to portray it as a partisan smear. I'm sure there was much more behind that threat, probably some kompromat.

see get indicted is McConnell. He is as dirty as they come. His comments about President Obama making him a one term President and obstructing every single initiative that President Obama put forward and of course neutering Merrick Garland.

I want to see this POS pay dearly.

I wonder if Mr. Mueller net is reaching into the Congress.
