but, for criticizing Donald Trump. This article was from 2 years ago, but found it again on Facebook today. I'm sure it's been posted since Khashoggi was murdered, but thought I'd post it again.
A Saudi Arabian journalist and commentator has been banned by his country for criticising US President-elect Donald Trump.
Jamal Khashoggi has been banned from writing in newspapers, making TV appearances and attending conferences, Middle East Eye reports.
After Mr Khashoggi criticised Mr Trump's Middle East policies at a Washington think-tank on 10 November, an official Saudi spokesman said he did not represent the Kingdom in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency.

(2,275 posts)Did Trump use the Saudis to actually kill and therefore silence, a journalist working in the US??? And one whose children are US citizens?
THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED.

(4,066 posts)I don't think anyone in the Saudi Royal family would feel it necessary to consult Trump. Certainly, not to get his permission.
Their banning him for criticizing Trump instead of them is all optics. They just used Trump as an excuse so they could say they were not tamping down on free speech when it was criticism of them.

(56,828 posts)as I posted above - is that the Saudis told Trump they were going to do it, and he either didn't say "no" to them or else said "yes" to them.

(51,590 posts)he is indirectly guilty for the journalist's death. Whether he or Kushner told the Saudis to do it or knew of the plan and didn't stop it, the results was the same. GUILTY!

(1,587 posts)cover cover for the real reasons tRump supports murderers over the moral integrity of the country he represents. Once again it probably boils down to national betrayal for personal financial gain, and despotic ambitions. Eventually we will all know the truth about how big a douchebag he really is.

(1,587 posts)was, and is, primarily based on oil and weapons sale in the name of regional security. In reality it was to protect cheap oil supplies that powerful US officials had a financial interest in. The 911 response was s stark display of how far reaching Saudi power reached. Currently MBS has simply figured out the selling price of the tRump family and paid it.
