A new Democratic House, and a stolen Supreme Court seat

The Republicans told President Obama to go fuck himself, and held a Supreme Court seat open in case they won the presidency and got themselves a wingnut appointment.

(Turns out they got two, but one was stolen.)

I know the new House controlled by Democrats can't and shouldn't impeach a Supreme Court justice without reason for doing so. However, they can use their subpoena powers to highlight that Kavanaugh was an unfit candidate, a slime ball, and a person who is as unfit for his position as is Trump for his.

Will the new Democratic House do this? Beats me. They may figure it will piss people off if they expose Kavanaugh for what he is.

How come Republicans never worry about pissing people off, yet retain so much power? And why are Democrats so timid when they are in power?

There's one reality about power. Use it or lose it. (Just don't misuse or abuse it.)

We need to skillfully use this power to showcase corruption at the highest level and shore up legislation where we can, e.g., better protections for voting rights, protecting the ACA, so forth. Remember, in two years we'll have to showcase what we accomplished (vs. what the repugs did (tax breaks for the 1%, so shouldn't be too hard to beat this kind of record of accomplishments by the repugs)).
