Donald Trump has absolutely no class and will attack just about anyone, no matter how accomplished, prominent, or heroic they are. Even in his final days of wrestling with brain cancer, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) was being attacked by the president and even after his death, Trump refused to honor the Senator as the war hero that he was.
Understandably, Trumps behavior pissed off a lot of important Republicans two of them being McCains wife Cindy and his daughter Meghan. While Meghan has been outspoken about Trumps treatment of her father after the Senators death, Cindy has been more removed from the media until recently. Now, Cindy is breaking her silence and calling Trump out for his attacks on her husbands contributions to America.................................................
Cindy also made sure to condemn Trumps hurtful hate speech and railed into him for how he treated her husband toward the end of the Senators life. Cindy suggested that she would never forget or forgive Trump:
...........................
I thought it was inappropriate and wrong, it hurt the family too, and it hurt the men who served with John. I think that was a wrong thing to say. I dont know if Ill ever get over it, to be honest....

(10,064 posts)Did to THEM, Cindy. Who have no public platform to whine about it and no millions of dollars to keep them well fed, housed, clothed, and protected while they whine.
So suck it up or shut up, Cindy! Trump is a Republican just like you and your always defensive daughter, so until you do something more constructive to oppose him than whine about how mean he was to YOUR Republican hubby, I don't want to hear about it!

+++Seems an observation that repubs LOVE to wow each other with how nasty they can be, but, always want sympathy, and they know Democrats will give them that bc we're, like, human beings. I dunno.

Her words seem appropriate to me.

Mrs. McCain needs to keep speaking out. She's exactly the type of person who can help turn those yellow-ribbon suburban women against Drumpf. They broke for Democrats in the midterms and we'll need them in 2020.
If I'm not mistaken, Cindy McCain has partnered with Ben Affleck (Matt Damon?) in some sort of water projects in Africa. Not white-people-photo-ops projects, but legitimate work bringing about positive change. And didn't Mrs. McCain tweet something about making sure ALL votes are counted during the Arizona recount? Sure, she's a Republican, but doesn't seem cut from the same Bible-thumping cloth as, say, grifter Sarah Palin. She's more Laura Bush, who slammed Drumpf for housing babies and children in cages. Again, another woman who could help sway "patriotic" suburban women and military wives. My SIL is one and I've watched her shift from "lean Republican" to "lean Democrat" over the past few election cycles as she's opened her eyes to what's going on in this country.
Seriously, attacking a widow... in what world is that considered good political strategy?

(10,064 posts)Cindy McCain is a mixed bag - but above all she's a Republican who, if she won't commit to voting for Trump again - means she won't commit to NOT voting for him either!

(37,648 posts)The Trumpers don't CARE one bit what anyone says about their leader, except that someone is attacking their leader.
I hope reasonableness and decency takes over the country once again. This madness of Trumpism has to end. It HAS to.

Senator McCain foisted Palin on us. Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind....

(1,414 posts)Meghan still goes on TV every fucking day and defends that orange bastard, and Cindy still isn't sure if she'll vote for him. As for the late Sen McCain, for all his honor as a war hero he too bowed before the throne of the orange gollum and proved less an "independent" as than a sycophant for trump. This here is little more than right wing victimology. Fuck 'em all!

(20,998 posts)If you don't stand with tRump*, then you should be doing ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING to defeat his "agenda." and work toward the end of his "reign." You don't coddle him. You don't duplicitously object to his actions and means. You don't turn away from his nefarious deeds and rationalize that a #Kavanaugh on the SCOTUS somehow justifies the blatant sexism, racism, homophobia, and misogyny.

(16,940 posts)THAT is the exact answer needed. With what IQ45 is doing to this country you can't be "well, sorta', maybe, kinda' " or "there may be some questions - I'm not sure" regarding where this country needs to go.
Yes, Senator McCain did a "thumbs-down" once - but he was out there supporting so much of the other shit that his total record of choices needs to be considered when you are looking for what has placed us in the position we are in at this point.
CLIFF NOTES:
*Sorry for your loss, Cindy
*Senator McCain voted with Trump too many times
*Trump needs to be gone no matter what any Repub says
