There are no little children at the border with Gaza, rather there are men. The political backdrop is entirely different. One is a century old dispute over land ownership. The other is about seeking refuge. The only similarity is the tear gas, which can be compared to many locations. Most recently, Paris.

I live about 10 or 12 miles from the border. I am in the shadow of Miller Peak,
the highest, southernmost mountain in the US. At 9466 feet tall, there is no
mountain taller further south. It's green here with trees, creeks and deer.
In the old days many crossers walked through my land. I gave what I could.
