The images of toddlers and mothers being tear gassed on the border reminds me

of the news film of Civil Rights marchers being attacked with water cannons, police dogs, and mounted police.

The film and pictures of attacks on children and old men and women had a lot to do with turning the national mood so that people were receptive to the 1964 Civil Rights law. Before that it was easy for white people to be apathetic and dismissive of the plight of black people in the South.

Maybe these tear gassing images will similarly help pressure the administration, and maybe even refocus attention on the families and children still in concentration camps.

I share your horror at the images we have seen, but sadly, the administration is using these same perverse images to gin up hate in the minds of their followers. It is easier to blame others than it is to fix real problems or show compassion in a meaningful way.

I am sickened by the state of the union and really feel like I am stuck in a lucid dream that someone else is controlling to torment me...

Those in Customs and Border Control, Donald Trump, and his lackies in the Administration should be proud to call themselves...Christian, for that is what Jesus would do.

Every single one of them needs to have their evil asses dragged to the Hague to face charges of crimes against humanity.

Many of the right wing extremists are applauding this action, saying "it's about time."

I am sickened by the whole thing and the acceptance of this evil cancer in our country.

People could be convinced on the Civil Rights movement because it involved their fellow Americans. People can even show sympathy for current undocumented immigrants because they’re already in the country.

I think many don’t embrace the current issues at the border because they involve “others.”

Sad but true.

The border is not his personal play thing. These crimes won't soon be forgotten.
