'Backwards B' was a classic hoax, a la Tawanna Brawley. She made up bullshit out of thin air and got called on it.

But the shooting at the FRC wasn't a hoax. It really happened. Corkins really was involved in an altercation where there were witnesses. He really was there and he really did shoot that guard (allegedly, of course).

I think what you're implying is that he was put up to it. I find that very unlikely. A nutjob with a gun is a lot more plausible than dark forces possibly exposing themselves to criminal charges in order to gain sympathy for the FRC.
