"Elie Honig, a former federal prosecutor in the Southern District of New York, told me in an email that Corsis pledge not to cooperate means either that he knows Mueller is bluffing and doesn't have enough evidence to charge him, which is unlikely, or that Corsi now finds himself on the wrong end of an indictment. If Corsi had decided to cooperate, Honig explained, it would have been Mueller announcing Corsi's cooperation along with the indictment of Stone (and perhaps others). Now, it'll be Mueller announcing an indictment of Stone and Corsi (and perhaps others) all together.

OP
This might be the first reported case of someone rushing to disclose to FINRA. LOL

(25,111 posts)1. They are also depending on the new Supreme Court (brought and paid for)
to help them overturn, overcome what is coming down upon them.
Whitaker is in over his large empty head.
Whitaker is already in deep trouble .

And will make it worse after committing many more mistakes than he realizes with this. Mueller knows everything he knows , and will use it to put him behind bars for a lot longer time now. What a fool . He can claim falsely stuff but it'll create new charges for him if he does , and this guy isn't that bright.

Whitless Whitaker is no longer acting AG. That way he can't bury it. Just a thought.

His calling out the FINRA issue just seems nuts. FINRA is an industry regulatory agency, not a government or law enforcement agency. There's a catch all in the FINRA regs re: being in good standing where they want you to notify them of any changes that may adversely impact your status. Being convicted of a felony is an adverse impact and he's going to lose his licenses.
I assume, the same goes if he were to plea guilty.
To me, it's an issue of confidentiality for Mueller's team. Until he actually accepts the deal and pleads the plea - there is nothing to adversely impact his status. When he pleads, then he notifies FINRA. There's no reason to formally inform them until it's actually a done deal because, until he pleads, he can always change his mind.
Separately - I think he's just spinning this out as part of the "Mueller's team is unethical"...if he thinks for a moment that his name has been in the paper for the past 2-3 months and FINRA doesn't know he's likely in deep shit - then he's dumber than the rest of them.
I know - kind of circular but that what dealing with FINRA can be like.
