(95 posts)Personal ambition over party loyalty is her way of reelecting the Orangutan.

(10,721 posts)It could have been a great teachable moment. Instead, some felt it necessary to get rid of Franken ASAP.

(40,210 posts)Sen. Gillibrand should know that it isnt always necessary to have the last word, especially in situations that have as much grey as Frankens case.
Franken was denied fairness. And that was Gillibrands doing. She got in front of tv cameras, waived her hands around, and made it clear she didnt care what he had to say. Franken should have been afforded process. Gillibrand got people to jump on a bandwagon and railroaded him out of the Senate. It was wrong.

(6,143 posts)She made a Facebook post. You might be confusing her with Kamala Harris who had a press conference that morning.

(40,210 posts)Gillibrand was in front of tv cameras after subsequent women made claims.
Gillibrand said she wasnt interested in what kind of touch it was or wasnt, women were always to be believed, and Franken needed to resign.
Tammy Baldwin and others were standing next to her. After Gillibrand spoke, Baldwin chimed in that she was returning money from Frankens pac.

(6,143 posts)There was a press conference of several Senators later that day, but not that morning. Kamala Harris was the first run out in front of TV cameras before anyone else:
Nor did she say what you accused her of saying:
If you blame Gillibrand, it is hypocritical and unfair not to equally blame all 38 senators.
And you claim "Gillibrand got people to jump on a bandwagon". Can you provide a link to prove that allegation?

(40,210 posts)Further, I have no interest in playing semantics with you.
Trumpocalypse
(6,143 posts)I said that morning. The point was that Harris was the first to go on TV about it.
You have also alleged, "Gillibrand got people to jump on a bandwagon". Can you provide a link to prove that allegation?
And do you blame all 38 senators equally or just Gillibrand?

(47,430 posts)doesn't look good on anyone, but a sincere apology does. Of course, I won't hold my breath on that one. The more she is criticized, the more she seems to double down. Not exactly presidential.

(7,447 posts)she's like 10th on the list of probable nominees. Biden, Sanders, Harris, Booker, Warren, Brown, Beto, Castro...just off the top of my head.
