The anecdote about Trump significantly overestimating the salary of the nation’s top military officer came as part of a larger report on the president’s lack of knowledge about federal salaries, spending and deficits. According to the paper, the topic came up while Kelly and Trump were watching television together in recent months.

The newspaper reported that when Kelly asked Trump how much he thought the Joint Chiefs chairman earns, the president responded with a guess of $5 million. The post actually pays less than $200,000.

According to the report, when corrected by Kelly, Trump suggested that Gen. Joseph Dunford, the current chairman of the Joint Chiefs, should get a large raise and noted how many stars he had on his uniform.

Then came an astonishing juvenile comment that he doesn't believe the climate change report because we are "cleaner" meaning, I guess, that there is less visible emission and litter and doesn't think that the CIA assessment that the Crown Prince murdered Khashhogi :

When asked specifically about the conclusion that the economic impact of climate change will be devastating, Trump responded, "I don't believe it." Before he became president, Trump falsely claimed that climate change itself was a hoax invented by the Chinese. His comments Monday come after he shed doubt on the CIA's reported conclusion that the crown prince of Saudi Arabia was directly involved in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, saying they actually "did not come to a conclusion." President Donald Trump on Monday suggested the United States should create a "worldwide network" to combat the "unfair" way the country is treated by the media, saying CNN doesn't have enough competition overseas.

"Throughout the world, CNN has a powerful voice portraying the United States in an unfair...." the president tweeted. "....and false way. Something has to be done, including the possibility of the United States starting our own Worldwide Network to show the World the way we really are, GREAT!"

You wonder if Kelly is egging Trump on with the crazy by telling him that these lunatic ideas are "great but you really have to sell it".

With Trumps poll numbers collapsing, First Lady Obama's book sales skyrocketing, Nancy Pelosi's power ascending, we know that we are in for a cascade of crazy, it just seams like Kelly is adding fuel to this particular fire.

Can you imagine how things will explode if the GOP loses Mississippi, which probably won't happen but one Republican internal poll seen by the NYT showed it narrowing to 5%, but there probably won't be much more narrowing, only a huge over/under performance in Dem/GOP GOTV will get us close.

In the meantime it seems that Kelly is in the mood to let the country see what he has been dealing with up close and personal.
