eventually numbness actually seems preferable to the raw anger and embarrassment that seems to be its only alternative. But, I am not conditioned to welcome numbness and so I am both angry and embarrassed that we have allowed---yes, we did---this evil amoral clown to come to power in our nation.
To make matters worse, I grew up in a neighborhood where, when you were threatened or attacked, you either fought back or were branded a coward; a doormat that any bully could wipe his feet on. If Trump---or Stone or Corsi or Giuliani or---the list goes on--- had grown up on my block, they'd have a lot fewer teeth. An old saying still resonates with me: " Stress is the confusion created when ones mind overrides the bodys basic desire to choke the living shit out of some asshole who desperately deserves it."
I try watching less TV news, but even Rachel's one hour is often enough to spike my blood pressure and cause me to ask---loudly---"WHEN will the decent majority rise up and end this?" But, that is the only question I have. There is no need for any further questions about what needs doing. We just need to do whatever it takes to remove the stain of Trump from our government as quickly as possible and by whatever means necessary.
Yes, I expect the criticisms, but there it is. I need more sleep and less treason.

(3,344 posts)I've said many times that a huge number of people in this country have not yet come to grips with just how horrible Republican voters are. They are seriously bad people.

Great post, by the way.

(53,776 posts)of the journalist Khashoggi and just today Pompeo and Mattis, before cameras and reporters, said there is no "smoking gun" tying that Saudi crown prince to the murder.
And fucking Bolton, the National Security Advisor won't listen to the tape of the murder because he doesn't speak Arabic. The National Security Advisor said this, as if he thought this would do, this dereliction of duty would fly, would go unchallenged.
I knew Bolton was an evil fucker who never saw a war he didn't want the US to be in, but until now I never knew he was also a dumb ass.
How do these mediocre white men keep falling upward into positions way beyond their abilities? This kind of bullshit doesn't happen to women or POCs. We certainly saw that in 2016 when the most qualified presidential candidate ever, a woman, lost out to the least qualified candidate ever, a horrifyingly incompetent megalomaniacal, narcissistic white male.
