right thing to do.

The assholes can do what they will do, but we need to have done the right thing.

We need to attach impeachment to his name for the rest of history.

Hopefully some republicans will find either enough ethics (not going to happen) or enough fear of their constituencies (slim chance it might happen) to convict. Probably neither will happen. But either way, we should do the right thing.

There's enough coverup and secrecy with the criminal GOP. It's *our* government.

Besides, I wouldn't mind rubbing some GOPer noses in the mess they've enabled.

Democrats in the House will HAVE to impeach. The Senate probably will not convict, but the Republicans will pay the price politically for doing nothing.

Or maybe agree with different parts

Making a decision on impeachment right now is premature. My stand is investigate thoroughly and as publicly as possible and then decide what is next. By publicly and thoroughly I'm remembering the televised Senate Watergate Committee meetings I watched as a kid.

I don't believe this for a second, but if all that can be proved is "minor perjury" as much as I hate trump I would say don't go forward. If it's proved that he has betrayed America I don't care what the chances are for conviction do what is right. Somewhere between is maybe tougher to decide and part of the debate should be the chance of conviction vs the need to stand for something. That should happen deliberately and publicly as well. We might disagree exactly where the line is.

By nature I like to procrastinate but there is something to say for not deciding prematurely.

KKKavanaugh spectacle as an argument: it was fixed from the beginning, but when the media frenzy exposed KKKavanaugh for the completely inadequate candidate for SC that he was, IMHO, it helped energize people to get to the polls to vote out the rethugs.

At the very least, I think impeachment would energize resistance once again. Dubya/Cheney should have been impeached. They, as well as Dump and Dense have all committed extremely serious impeachable offenses.

It's shameful that such politicians have not been impeached solely because "the votes weren't there."

Senate won't convict unless the House impeachment basically forces Senate Republicans in a corner. Or, if their donors order them to convict.

and when the Republican Congressfolk see defeat looming...I'd bet a lot of money I don't have on resignation. Fastest and easiest way...bring in a phalanx of Republicans, a list of his exposures, I don't think he's healthy, and he won't want the tag of Killing the Republican Party...which is where it's headed.

Not that he'd do it for the good of the country, he'd rather have a knock-down drag-out fight.

Still ... Fingers crossed.
