It was mentioned rather in passing, and wasn't the sole focus of the episode, but I found it interesting. Specifically for schadenfreude to look forward to.
Nunes was an enthusiastic Trump toady.
Nunes made it very clear he was going to submarine the HPSCI investigation.
But even as brazen as he was, he had to make a show of doing some sort of pro forma investigation despite his refusal to call many witnesses or subpoena various records.
So when Trump's inner circle testified in front of HPSCI, they were emboldened to give self-serving answers, misleading or even outright false answers, because they knew Nunes would not subpoena any witnesses or documents that would contradict them.
In providing that reassurance, which is now becoming a false reassurance with Schiff's ascendency, Nunes may have accidentally secured a route of prosecution of each and every one of them.
Dipsh*t Devin.

(12,904 posts)When I heard about the staffers who were unaware that Mueller could prosecute them for lying to Congress.
They thought they would just lie to Nunes committee, and he would bury those lies along with the rest of the investigation in the House. Oops.
