Wikileaks wants to sue Guardian newspaper for libel over Manafort-story:
NEW RULES: WikiLeaks is going make suing fake news producers like the Guardian a central part of its business model. Since libels are the most predictable response to the power and accuracy of a WikiLeaks' publication, our analysis is that this is a stable, scalable income stream
Well...
1. Discovery works both ways.
2. What if the other side subpoenas Assange and demands that he appear in court?
3. What about the people whose lives have been ruined and who now face death-threats and identity-theft because Wikileaks published their private information (such as being a closeted homosexual in a country full of murderous islamic extremists)? Does that mean that they get to sue Wikileaks for damages?
4. What about the scandinavian guy who, according to Wikileaks, supposedly forged the letter showing that Assange wanted to flee to Russia? A letter that seems to originate from a dedicated Wikileaks Org laptop? Wikileaks libeled this guy a forgerer. Does he get to sue Wikileaks?
Oh, btw... The DNC has sued Wikileaks over the stolen emails and the lawsuit is still ongoing. Wikileaks was all giddy about discovery, about getting internal DNC-documents... and then abruptly shut up when they realized that the DNC would have the right to discovery in internal Wikileaks-documents.
