He wasn't horrible, vile and vindictive like his son. And I'm sure he was repulsed by Trump's crude ugly behavior.

I never hated him either. I hated Barbara after Katrina and her crass, vulgar remarks, but never Poppy. I actually felt bad for him knowing his sons were not highly regarded; both seen as buffoons in different ways. His legacy kind of shredded.
