'May His Many Victims Across the Globe Rest in Peace': George H.W. Bush Dead at 94

From the article:

As corporate media gloss over the former U.S. president's record with fawning tributes and sanitized obituaries, some observers took to social media to highlight key aspects of the record and legacy of George H.W. Bush, who died Friday at 94.
Among the 41st president's acts during his political life Twitter users noted were his role in the Gulf War, Central America, and the Iran-Contra affair.
While it's fair to offer condolences to Bush's family members as they grieve, "As a public figure with lots of innocent blood on his hands, his record has to be examined without any whitewashing," asserts The Intercept's Mehdi Hasan.

Remember when President Jimmy Carter was not re-elected in 1980? An "October surprise" engineered by CIA-within-the-CIA helped ensure Carter was not president for second term and Reagan won. George H.W. Bush was implicated. More here:

Condolences to his family are appropriate, but the reality of "Poppy" is that he committed treason.

And what is wrong with acknowledging that?

Reality is ignored at times. Bush was a criminal, but like Reagan, he escaped punishment.

The Regan administration is largely responsible for the condition of the poor and homeless in this nation. They tore down as much of the New Deal as possible. They took away health care and mental health care for those who really needed it. They started the move from pensions to 401ks (which are just about worthless for most people). They engaged the "Religious Right" in their efforts to win. Sending us backwards with respect to women's rights and health.

There is nothing, nothing good about the Reagan administration that can be said. No, he didn't cause the fall of the wall or end the USSR. The USSR was already going bankrupt and already going to fail. Reagan just happened to be there at the right time.

“War on (certain) Drugs” on steroids, increased spending by the Billions. They really went after cannabis users. Drug testing exploded while Reagan, then Bush, was in office. I respect the title, not those men. Republican presidents always seem to get worse each term. Nixon was terrible, Ford pardoned Nixon, Reagan, Bush I & II were awful & Trump is terribly AWFUL!! 😈☠️👺👿

He lied us into the first war in Iraq - showing his son how it was done. The swimming pools of blood and the body counts unleashed by poppy are the true legacies of a truly evil man.

That was almost 300 innocent civilians that he said he wouldn't apologize for their deaths. That and the Willy Horton ad and Iran Contra and the 80 election that was stolen by them from Carter.

How does one respect a human being who does a little good and so much utterly, horribly bad--- so much evil ???

This is what we and much of the world have come to.
The bar is so low, it almost doesn't exist.

I forget the exact, accurate quote or from whom it came, but it went something like---

A person who possesses the qualities to be a great president, or premier, or----- usually also possesses those qualities that would keep him or her from ever presuming he or she could be or would want to be a great leader.

That is not right but close... if you read between the lines, you should be able to get it.

All true facts, but waiting until he's dead to expound on his faults is terrible timing.

True facts nonetheless. But I knew all that before he died and him dying doesn't change that. The article exploits his death for circulation.

That's why the timing is off, but I can understand the need for getting it off our chests. The Reagan betrayal opened a Pandora's box of corrupt Republicans.
