GOP lawmakers say party isn't trying to learn from midterm losses

A group of GOP lawmakers is voicing concerns that the Republican Party isn't confronting its losses in the November midterms and is not taking steps to learn from what led to Democrats flipping at least 40 seats in the House.

“[There has not been] any party lookback or leadership lookback and it does worry some of us," Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) told The New York Times in a report published on Sunday.

Kinzinger's comments have been echoed by other GOP lawmakers, including Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.).

Stefanik said that “there has been close to no introspection in the GOP conference and really no coming to grips with the shifting demographics that get to why we lost those seats."

It can only be failed. Republicans just push the bet when they lose, and the media never suggest that they need to trim their sails with the political winds.

In 2016, after Democrats polled far more votes than Republicans only to lose thanks to the electoral college madness and ruthless gerrymandering of congressional districts, the media couldn't offer enough advice to Democrats about how they had to change and be more like Republicans. After 2018? The media still have to be persuaded that Democrats clobbered Republicans at the polls. With votes.

The one-percenters don't much like Democracy. Their efforts are aimed at voter suppression and eliminating anything that protects the people's right to a voice in government. Their recent attempts have included a push for a contitutional amendment to return the Senate to direct appointment. My advice would be to ditch the Kochs and the Sinclairs and ALEC and their ilk and you might actually find people that want to vote Republican. Purge those that would doom you to perpetual minority.

The GOP leadership also thinks they've got their ballot box stuffing machine in place, and elections don't matter anymore.
When you have criminals in charge, they're going to think that everyone else around them is a criminal and will act accordingly.
