Jess Dweck @TheDweck 38m38 minutes agoLot of people criticizing this, but in fairness, the best way to honor a Republican is to deny Americans a vital government service they rely on

(9,888 posts)this have to do with Republicans? It's about acting like an advanced civilization. A man died who reached about as high as you can go in this country's government. It was designated as a federal holiday, the post office is federal...
...a 94 yr old president dying shouldn't suspend our sense of humor.
Especially at republicans' expense.
I don't think the PS halting for a day will harm the republic.

(27,808 posts)they shouldn't be charged a late fee. Back in the day, if something was due on a weekend or holiday, it always carried over, but that's not the case now, so as long as the closure accounts for that, I'm fine with it.

(7,316 posts)They closed the post offices too. My post office closed, but they put up a sign saying "Closed in honor of Ray Charles" who also died that week.
