Barack and Michelle Obama have elegance and class

Trump spent years attacking Barack Obama with his "birther" crap, not to mention all the other shit he threw at the Obamas with every racist bone in his body.

Yet, at the GWH Bush funeral, both Obama and Michelle shook his hand. Michelle wrote in her book that Trump's "birtherism" had put their lives at risk. Nonetheless, neither of them were about to make a "scene." They were not about to spit on a swine. They're above that. They are two wonderful people who know what it is to be decent human beings.

wasn't about any of them. It was about honoring a president, a father and a friend. That the Obama's showed nothing but dignity and grace isn't a surprise to anyone. That donnie managed not to ruin the entire thing still shocks me.

Both of them are simply fine human beings, and this old world could use more like them. I miss having Obama as president every day.

just for a short time. I know if my family met them
they would feel our affection ... and we would not have to
touch them. and I got a big family.

...I firmly believe Barack shook Chump's hand only because Chump extended his first and he didn't want to leave him hanging on universal television. If not for that initial gesture, he would have been perfectly justified in giving him nothing more than a simple head nod at best.

I'd bet dollars to donuts that the Clintons and Obamas joked about how all this was going to be handled well before Chump arrived...

I have this pesky thing called a job that keeps me from watching live news feeds. (It also keeps me fed, housed, clothed, etc.).

So I have to ask: did Individual 1 try his aggressive move — trying to yank the last real President’s arm — during the handshake?

I’d really like to think that the setting kept him from trying to assert his inferiority complex, or that a recent handshaking encounter with a real world leader — Justin Trudeau — taught him a lesson.
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/video/2017/feb/14/donald-trumps-strange-handshake-style-and-how-justin-trudeau-beat-it-video-explainer

Or,... maybe it’s because his tiny, little mind is finally wrapping itself around the realization that it’s almost Mueller Time!

...I really believe that the enormity of the event hit him like a ton of bricks and he realized there was absolutely nothing he could do to make it about him at all.

I was about to comment something very similar. Have you ever seen anyone pout so much at such a solemn occasion? OMG, he looked like he had the world's' worst case of constipation, ever. He had this horrible, sour, ugly expression on his face the entire time, it never once went away; he just stewed the whole time. He was so unhappy to be there, didn't buy into a single thing that was said, didn't participate at all except to shove his hand out. It was like, you can't stop me from being here, haha, although I know you wish I weren't. He absolutely 100% hated being there but was forced to by his own ego. He thought he should be on stage and was pissed he wasn't given an opportunity. I think he also knew he would never inspire the kind of praise being given to HW (no matter how much I dislike the man because of Iran and backstabbing Jimmy and the country) and was extremely irked to have it rubbed in his face, because of course it was all about him to begin with, in that orange diseased semblance of a brain.

Edit: added punctuation

You'd think the Secret Service would have put up some kind of "evil-proof-barrier" between them.
