On the other hand, Jimmy Carter is the senior, and we need to protect his heart from unnecessary shock. Hillary Clinton has the most to resent, so deserved to have distance between them. The Obamas really had no choice. It made the most sense.

I thought what a rotten idea it was to sit him next to Obama, making everyone even more uncomfortable at a funeral, but then I realized that no one there would have been a better choice - including Poppy Bush!
