If it was the staff's fault, then why did Paul Ryan sign the letters?

If it was the staff's fault, then why did Paul Ryan sign the letters?

by Jed Lewison

Paul Ryan gets caught lying and then blames the staff:

After initially denying he had requested stimulus funds, GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan has acknowledged that his office had sought the money for his Wisconsin congressional district and took responsibility for it.

“After having these letters called to my attention I checked into them, and they were treated as constituent service requests in the same way matters involving Social Security or Veterans Affairs are handled,” Ryan said in a statement late Thursday. “This is why I didn't recall the letters earlier.”

But if the staff is really to blame, then why is Ryan's personal signature on each letter? This isn't the work of an auto pen:

Unless Ryan's staff is forging his signature, he's being a real jerk by blaming them.

Cause that bad, mean stimulus money he does not want in his district, no sir, because it only ruins America!

Regular Federal money, in amounts in excess of Federal revenues, that is the only kind of job-creating money he wants to wrangle for his constituents....
