I am concerned that it is not top leading news. I have not seen it on national network TV news. I have seen reporting on local news.
Thanks.

(6,344 posts)Chag Samaach to you as well.
I am not Jewish, but using the Hanuka menorah avatar to honor those that are has been an education. I have never heard the term "Chag Samaach" before and needed to look it up. Thanks!

(8,231 posts)remember now. Chuck Todd talked about it yesterday in very disparaging terms. Yes they are talking about it but not sure about LOCAL news which I don't watch.
Equinox Moon
(6,344 posts)Well, Chuck Todd has the NBC Sunday network show. I don't think he is on network TV except for that.

(58,785 posts)evening network news. If you missed the thin slicks of news jam between the thick slabs of commercial bread, no surprise and oh well. The function of the viewers there is to be audience for the ads, not be informed. And you know the MSM all belong to giant corporations, most subsidiaries of 7 huge international conglomerates.
As for the rest of the media, what's remarkable there is the overall excellence and concern of much of the coverage. Not only the little details but the big picture are being reported -- to the entire nation even if only reaching those smart enough to care, as always.
State Republicans in three of the countrys most vital swing states are displaying open contempt for the most basic principle of democracy: that when you lose an election, you have to hand over power to your opponents. The national party hasnt condemned these power grabs, giving the state legislatures tacit permission to rewrite the rules.
These power grabs highlight one of the most disturbing facts about American politics today: The Republican Party has become institutionally indifferent to the health of democracy. It prioritizes power over principle to such an extreme degree that it undermines the most basic functioning of democracy.

I'd say unquestionably a far greater threat.
