Before he steps down, could Matt Whitaker fire Mueller?

That would be a low-down dirty deed and I do not think Trump would take that gamble? But, who knows?

Trump is cornered and maybe thinks he's going to be impeached anyway, so what is there to lose??

He is an unstable and unpredictable person.

I suppose it would be possible for Whitaker to fire Mueller just before the hearing for William Barr to be new Atty General?

Anything can happen with this criminal mind in the White House.

If it came from Whitaker, would Mueller just ignore it? NotASurfer Dec 2018 #2
He COULD and go to court, given Whitaker's very installation was illegal per most experts hlthe2b Dec 2018 #3

According to his behavior and all the guilty pleas for lying, he and they are guilty. Innocent people do not behave that way.

The Criminal-in-Chief is a petulant child. He'll have a temper tantrum and lash out. So there's a good chance Mueller goes before he does.

That's the problem if you cheat Senate confirmation, he might have no constitutional authority

If I remember what the discussion about Whitaker's actual standing was

It would be a difficult argument to make that he was "legitimate" without the consent of the Senate. Looks like some type of shady deal...

sense Whitaker is a crook he cooperates with Mueller to get out of his own legal troubles? I'm sure Trump hasn't.

His appointment was illegally done, so no he couldn't, and he's probably already been warned if he did.
