Trump’s Russia Cover-Up By the Numbers – 96+ contacts with Russia-linked operatives
https://themoscowproject.org/explainers/trumps-russia-cover-up-by-the-numbers-70-contacts-with-russia-linked-operatives/

Last Updated December 10, 2018

On January 6, 2017, the U.S. intelligence community issued a report that showed there were two campaigns to elect Donald Trump: one run by Trump and one run by the Russian government. Trump and many of his senior advisors and close associates have repeatedly denied any connections between the two campaigns, despite the fact that they were working towards the same goal, at the same time, and utilizing the same tactics.

Yet over the past year, we’ve learned about a series of meetings and contacts between individuals linked to the Russian government and Trump’s campaign and transition team. In total, we have learned of 96 contacts between Trump’s team and Russia linked operatives, including at least 27 meetings. And we know that at least 27 high-ranking campaign officials and Trump advisors were aware of contacts with Russia-linked operatives during the campaign and transition. None of these contacts were ever reported to the proper authorities. Instead, the Trump team tried to cover up every single one of them.

Why were there so many meetings? What was discussed in them? More importantly, why did Trump and his camp lie about them, including to federal law enforcement? What are they hiding?

The American people deserve answers.

Below is a comprehensive chronological list of the contacts that have been discovered to date and the lies Trump’s campaign, transition, and White House told to hide them.

while this was going on? Eating popcorn and making bets on whether the Republicans or Democrats would win?

There were more than just two campaigns to take and consolidate power.

The Republican leadership and others holding elective office haven't been risking professional suicide over the past few years because they believe so passionately in serving the ultrawealthy that they're glad to sacrifice themselves to it.

Btw, Comey and McCabe both did end up committing professional suicide. The appropriate, mandated investigations and recommendations for firing came very quickly and predictably after the worst of their actions. (The only person who could have saved them was too warped to appreciate what he owed them.) But why did they do it? McCabe was being spoken of as Comey's successor, several years in the future.

My guess is that the unholy alliance of GOP and the billionaire class they've fed since at least Reagan were close to consolidating their power. Trump jumped in unexpectedly and played tv execs so well he stole the leadership role from them. Everything since his primary con has seemed almost ad-lib with moments of desperation. There were still many loose ends, but they had to run with Trump to stuff SCOTUS.

The problem is that he's a loose cannon so far as GOP is concerned, only interested in self enrichment and self aggrandizement. He's not cold and calculating like the Kochs (remember they refused to fund him), nor smoothly deceitful like McConnell and Ryan. He stirred up a lot of scrutiny and magnified the blue wave. Without the blue wave, we would likely be so deep into government by GOP and for the rich that by 2020 we'd be a token party and the country a democracy in name only.

Nobody expects a blue tsunami, nor an opportunistic, narcissistic con man.

to reveal themselves and their goals more and more to the public. An extremely dangerous point for them.

Trump's election was an incredibly fucked-up tea-partier (populist) rebellion against what their party leadership's abandonment of them, their second rebellion.

But I believe without the bizarre historical anomaly of Trump, by the time people in general realized they intended to take down healthcare, Social Security, unemployment insurance, and the rest of our social programs, even public education for god's sake, almost the entire electorate would have been rebelling, and will be, just far more competently. A good part of 200,000,000 registered voters versus them.

Trump's been a huge distraction, pulling potentially disastrous attention away from what they're up to, but they will draw the electorates attention once again after he's gone.

We need to maintain a blue storm until we can investigate and correct the damage done to the foundation. Gerrymandering, voter purges, voter suppression and dark money need to be fixed. This mess can't be cleaned up by one new House.

Anecdotally, neither my son nor my daughter had any interest in politics whatsoever prior to 2016. One knew nothing about either candidate and the other knew only the RW characterization of Hillary. Both voted Hillary and have since been informing coworkers about the machinations of GOP. They tell me that the people they know and talk to were likewise previously unaware of GOPer duplicity.

Trump may have helped awaken a sleeping giant instead of being as effective a distraction as Republicans hoped. We just need to hammer home the fact that he's a symptom, not the disease.

and just as much get that current group of traitors out of there while we can. They've blatantly and hugely betrayed their duty to the nation a few times now. The writing is on the wall for them.
