Legitimate public servant. Legitimately working for AMERICA. NOT the Kremlin! That other individual (Individual 1) is nothing but a Russian asset. A wholly-owned subsidiary. An imposter. Worse than Species 8472. (Watching some “Star Trek Voyager” episodes at present.)

I know that across the country there will be some areas that need adjustment nut anyone who argues this isn't a great improvement over the previous system is delusional.

And that's after paying $7,300 in premiums just to have the plan.

If I have to pay $14,000+ each calendar year before a single cent is covered by insurance, what's the point of even being insured?

Assuming you make less than 400% of the poverty level ($75K or so). When the GOP scum screwed with the cost-sharing, it drove the prices of silver plans way up, but the way the subsidies work that ends up often making gold plans actually cheaper than silver ones; bronze plans are usually free or nearly so if you get subsidies.

The fact that the law almost completely ignored health care costs, and instead just threw trillions of dollars to subsidize the insuring of that healthcare, is a major mathematical (and financially unsustainable) failure. Those subsidies, already huge, will grow at an astronomical rate as healthcare costs themselves do. What's the sustainable funding mechanism for that?

Health insurance is expensive because healthcare is expensive. The ACA was a classic "treat the symptoms" solution that utterly failed to address the systemic problems. The few minor elements that WERE designed to address costs had little to no impact.

Nobody's (currently) willing to talk about explicit provider price controls, not even Sanders or AOC (since making health care affordable would mean doctors have to make about half what they do now, like they do in the rest of the OECD).

My husband got quality insurance last year and it was only $134/month, primary care 0 copay, specialist $40, no deductibles, hospital $150/day x 5 days then 100% covered. It was great! This year it's $268, copays $30 & $75 with a $1000 deductible. We can't afford it, even when I knocked my Medicare coverage way back. So, he's got the BS ins. from his work. For the same amount he paid last year for comprehensive coverage, he will get through his work, 5 office visits at $20 each, free rx if they are tier 1, otherwise no rx coverage, no coverage for labs or x-rays, no coverage for hospitals and that's only if he works 25 hrs week or more. if he averages less in any month, they pull the coverage entirely.

I HATE DRUMPF WITH A TOTAL PASSION, THE CRIMINAL, TREASONOUS DESTROYER OF AMERICA'S WORKING CLASS & POOR!!

He's semi-retired and only works part time. Ambetter is the name of the insurance that was so affordable before it doubled. A lot of people miss the 2nd step and don't realize they could pay for less. First you get the quote, then go to see the subsidies, that's where the cost came way down before. This year the quoted price more than doubled, so even with the same subsidy, his cost increased x2 as well, which we couldn't afford with him at his current job.

Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis

Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis is a talk show hosted by comedian Zach Galifianakis which features celebrity guests. Episodes last several minutes, in which the interviewer (Galifianakis) and guests trade barbs and insults. In addition to the online series, an episode was filmed for Comedy Central as a television special. The series' theme music is Dave Blume's arrangement of Bernard Herrmann's theme from Taxi Driver, which is on the original Taxi Driver soundtrack album but was not included in the film.

...

As the show's title suggests, host Zach Galifianakis interviews celebrities while sitting between two potted ferns.[1] The set intentionally resembles a low-budget amateur production for public-access television,[1] with on-screen graphics containing deliberate comedic errors. For example, in a 2014 episode, Brad Pitt's name is spelled "Bart Pit" and his film 12 Years a Slave — the winner of the 2013 Academy Award for Best Picture — entitled "12 Years a Salve."[2]

Galifianakis maintains a very awkward and often antagonistic demeanor with his guests, asking them bizarre, inappropriate or insulting questions mixed with offhand non-sequiturs. The guests' responses are mostly improvised, despite pre-interviews.[3][4] Episodes often include a segment in which Galifianakis awkwardly interrupts his guests to promote a sponsor's product. Examples include bananas, the video game Need for Speed: Shift, and (most frequently) Speed Stick deodorant. Some advertisements, like the graphics, are based around aspects of or events related to the interviewee. For example, the episode featuring Hillary Clinton included one of Donald Trump's campaign commercials.

It didn't get better after a couple of days and I had to have surgery. Without Obamacare, the cost would have been into six figures--we would have lost our house. As it was, we're still paying the bills off, but it didn't break us. We have a few more years before we're 65, both of us self-employed and we signed up for next year's insurance last week. Bless you, Mr Obama!
