A Green New Deal could act like the earlier New Deal that FDR implemented.
A Green New Deal could also energize some of the "both parties are the same" voters.
A Green New Deal could be the source of millions of new jobs insulating homes, replacing inefficient windows and doors, installing solar panels, and many other jobs related to using less energy and using far less petroleum products.

(82,849 posts)Looks like they're trying to build a framework to formulate policy and move toward a consensus. That's not really a "demand." It's working within the system to achieve a desired goal. One of the ways to do that is to create a select committee, gather information (documentary and testimonial) and using the best information available to make policy proposals.

But, given the seriousness of the issue, it is also necessary to act as quickly as possible. GOP inaction merely lessens the time available to take action.

Lots of hype about "demanding" things be done, yet facts say otherwise. Like you said if they need to go after republicans not democrats!
