In every region but one, and even that one had some good, the midterms were pretty great

New England has one, count it one, federal elected official left and she wasn't on the ballot or she would like have lost too. In six states we have 9 Dems, 2 independents who caucus with the Dems, and 1 GOP Senator. In the 22 House seats, 22 Dems 0 Gop.

In the mid Atlantic (PA, NY, NJ, DE, MD) we have 1 GOP senator out of 10 seats. We have 27 seats in NY (21 to 6 split) We have 18 seats in PA (9 to 9 split) NJ, DE, and MD combine for 21 with a 19 to 2 split. Dems 49 GOP 17.

Out side of VA, TX, and FL the South wasn't so great for the House but in NC we won all statewide offices and a majority of the US House vote (we also might get one house seat to get 4 total out of 13).

The West was fantastic. California, no statewide elected GOP, 46 to 7 split in the House, no GOP Senate candidate. Senate seats gained in NV and AZ. NV no statewide elected GOP. AZ won Secretary of State who also is 2nd in line for Gov as they have no Lt Gov. Entire House delegation and governor in NM, openly gay Gov in CO and openly bisexual one in OR. A majority of Western Governorships. Oh and a house seat in Utah. Tester over 50% in Montana.

Industrial Midwest other than Ohio and Indiana, and Missouri was fantastic. All statewide elections won in MI, WI, IL, MN. Gained house seats in MI, IL, MN, IA. Relected Senators who were though to be vulnerable in MI, WI, OH, MN. Gov in IL. Majority of the legislative vote in both MI and WI.

Great Plains House seats in KS, OK. Gov in KS.

The South was a disappointment in that we lost statewide in FL and GA.

But overall this was an amazingly good election.

However, we didn't have a net gain in the US House. Lost two and gained two. Net gain 0. Still 5-3 Democrats.
