None of us know for sure what Mueller has on Trump. But it's a fairly good guess that Trump's financial dealings include money laundering for the Russians, as well as real estate dealings that could be outright criminal.
We've heard a million times that a sitting president can't be indicted. But we haven't heard that his business assets cannot be frozen. And that includes Trump's "billions" (or more likely millions since his being a "billionaire" is questionable, if not an outright lie).
Imagine Trump without access to his ill gotten gains. He'd go totally bugshit. He'd try to cause an uprising among his followers, who would fold after the first tear gas canister is thrown at them.
And after a few hundred tweets, he'd still be without his assets.
My guess is he wouldn't have the balls to slit his wrists, so he'd probably beg one of his flunkies to do it for him.
I'm not a financial maven, so perhaps some here will inform me if I'm mistaken about the freezing of a president's assets.

In any case, I'm sure he has plenty of liquid assets that Mueller can't get to, and I'm sure Vlad will always float him some cash.

(15,751 posts)Money laundering. If anything could get through Presidential immunity/impunity - seems like money laundering would be a good bet.

(1,035 posts)The podcast is about Spiro Agnew, but it goes to the heart of the argument that a sitting president or vice president cannot be indicted. In Agnew's case, the USAG threatened to indict him unless Agnew agreed to resign. After consultation with legal scholars on the topic, Agnew blinked. There is no consensus that a sitting president or vice president cannot be indicted.
