...Trumps wanna-be authoritarian act is stale, tired, and often painfully juvenile
Trumps transparency makes the actions to oppose him perfectly clear
Trumps wanna-be authoritarian act is stale, tired, and often painfully juvenile but it is also deadly serious
If I were the gambling type, Id look for ways to place bets on President Donald Trumps future.
Trump likes to pretend he is brash, unconventional, and always keeps others guessing. The reality is that he is utterly predictable.
For instance, I can confidently predict that Trump will once again try to interfere with special counsel Robert Muellers investigation into Russias attack on the 2016 election.
<snip>
Trump will keep trying to find ways to undermine, sabotage, and otherwise throw sand in the gears of Muellers investigation. This behavior represents a dangerous threat to the rule of law: Trump is trying to break free of limits on power by rejecting the notion that he can be subject to legitimate investigation, even as news seems to come daily about the walls closing in on him.
Trumps wanna-be authoritarian act is stale, tired, and often painfully juvenile but it is also deadly serious. Trump is not a fan of American constitutional democracy, to put it charitably. In fact, he is a direct, existential threat to the rule of law, checks and balances, and other fundamental principles underpinning our system of government. - Marketwatch

There will come a time when a percentage of the Trumpist horde will find his act stale.

(15,751 posts)1. Would think that that trump's authoritarian act, and trump in general, even among
republicans, just get tiring, stale, stupid, and/or old.

Ratings will decline.
It only needs to be 10-15%. Once his approval drops below 30% and holds there, GOP knives will come out. It has to be safe.

which is only a few more years so they'd better step on it.

His shtick is wearing thin and nobody is entertained by it anymore. What people used to see as strength is now being seen as pitiful insecurity and weakness.
