President Donald Trump on Thursday again asserted that he bears no responsibility for the campaign finance violations committed by his former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen.

"They put that on to embarrass me. They put those two charges on to embarrass me. They're not criminal charges. What happened is either Cohen or the prosecutors, in order to embarrass me, said: 'Listen, I'm making this deal for reduced time and everything else. Do me a favor and put these two charges on,'" Trump claimed in an interview with Fox News.

Trump made the comments one day after Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison for crimes that included tax evasion, lying to Congress, and setting up illegal hush-money payments to women who claimed they had had affairs with Trump. The president's remarks expanded on an accusation he had made earlier in the day.

Cohen has acknowledged that the hush-money payments were made in order to protect Trump from damaging allegations during the 2016 presidential election. Given that their purpose was to aid Trump's candidacy, the payments constituted contributions to Trump's presidential campaign. By not declaring them, Cohen violated campaign finance laws.

When he run for president his only thought was to work the system, to enrich himself and his kids, to pay debts to the Russians and whomever he owes money too, and when I say "pay his debts" I don't mean monetarily, he is willing to give the country to the Russians for them to forgive his debts. He also saw an opportunity to hate freely and screw people he despises, and now his policies and those of the republicans have caused death on children like the 9-year-old who died two days ago from dehydration and hunger while in the care of ICE. The name "ICE" is very appropriate, these people are cold and have no feelings, people involved with ICE should be prosecuted, including Ms Nielsen.

I have such a problem with the media not mentioning treason when they talk about trump, flynn and manafort...Cohen? I have felt sorry for this guy from the get go, I see him as the little kid who wants to play with the popular kids at school to gain some notoriety and is willing to do anything for it, also not thinking of the consequences, then when he is deep in crap he realizes all he has done and how it wasn't worth it, but now he is knee-deep in it. I am sure many will differ with me on Cohen's assessment, and that is OK.

Anyway, treason needs to be the word that accompanies any discussion of these people. I don't care how much Flynn contributed with the investigation, he is a traitor anywhere you look at it, and why his sone, who continues to tweet stupidity is getting away with free of even discussion is beyond me, he is a traitor like his daddy.

The investigations about dark money from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Israel, and Qatar funneled in to Trump and or the GOP. Trump.Org is being investigated. The Trump Foundation is being investigated.

The main thing I see are cracks in the reporting from the corporate controlled M$M. The M$M is slowly changing its narrative to maybe Trump and his family are a criminal enterprise? Trump is not a strong person, he is going to snap, I see a nervous breakdown. Republican Senators are going to have to make a choice whether to support a fascist criminal or support our democracy.
