(22,035 posts)You said, "This was not a big crime."
1. Therefore you admit that there was a crime committed. In your mind, then, some crimes are worse than others. Fair enough but if a Democratic president had committed ONLY the two campaign violations of paying off Trump's two mistresses, you Republicans would spend four years of bullshit investigations. Meanwhile, nearly every day brings new revelations of sleazy activities by Trump & Co. Oh, one other thing: let's drop the nonsensical facade that the women merely have allegations. Trump had extra-marital sex with these women. You know that to be true.
2. Every single time you've made a statement of "fact," it shortly became clear that you were wrong. Your track record is not respectable.
3. The campaign finance crimes that Cohen admitted are but the tip of the iceberg AND YOU KNOW IT. Look around you: there are dozens of investigations swarming around this administration and Trump. I'm not fond of cliches but where there's smoke, there's fire.
4. You claim to be the most ethical person you know; is that why you announced your divorce from Donna Hanover on television before you had inform her? Your personal behavior in that one instance tells us all we need to know about your "ethics."
You've morphed from someone who was ugly and evil into something stupid and dumb. I say dumb because you're willing to work for Trump for free. What the hell? No salary from a "really, really rich" guy? What's in it for you, then? Your policies as a politician do not line up with Trump's. Why are you so willing to make a public ass of yourself for him.
Trump is going down. In what's left of your heart, you know this to be true. You know that Robert Mueller is probably one of the finest law enforcement professionals in the world. You've cast your lot with a loser, a criminal and a disaster. That's some way to end your career.
Enjoy!

(9,895 posts)Hillary Clinton should have (finally) become America's first woman president. She was FAR more qualified and FAR, FAR more prepared for the office than the piece of shit that conspired with foreigners to usurp the office and tarnish the nation forevermore.
There is no forgiveness forthcoming for Trump, only prosecutions and shame. The real shame though is that Hillary Clinton would have been a consequential president because the world is at a fulcrum point right now and REAL leadership from America is desperately needed...

(3,259 posts)It allowed for a monster to be elected. Fewer people will have access to affordable healthcare. Death. Russia gaining power on the world stage. Death. Poor responses to natural disasters. Death. The emboldening of White Nationalists. Death. A tax scam that gives to the rich and takes from the poor. Death. A justice department that has backed off of the pursuit for civil rights. Death.
These things matter greatly in a large society and truly equate to more death.

(1,822 posts)All along it went from nothing happened to now we've reached the end of the road where there can be no more denials but trying to spin the crimes as "not that important". Apparently now from Trump's legal team only "serious crimes" like murder, manslaughter, theft, etc are really important crimes that the President should be prosecuted for. Fraud, tax evasion, lying all that...not important.

(81,238 posts)Guys! REMEMBER THIS!!! Whenever you find yourselves in an argument with one of these starry-eyed addled-brained (and perhaps somewhat sincere - or at least they THINK theyre being totally sincere - and moral) anti-choicers, this may be an approach that encourages at least a partial return to REALITY.
You cant say youre pro-life if
1) youre okay with THIS. An innocent post-birth child DIES in custody because she was unfortunate enough to have brown skin, and her parent(s) were desperately trying to escape to freedom and safety - probably MAINLY for, and because of, HER.
And there are more such arguments.
2) youre okay with the horrifying butchering murder of a journalist because its only one man and weve got important business deals with the murderers sponsoring country.
3) you dont care about the poor, homeless, and destitute in our country, because your preachers and politicians assure you that the least of these are lazy moochers and its their own fault that theyre poor, homeless, and destitute.
4) you refuse to believe that theres an accelerating climate crisis that MAYBE we can still do something to avert while we still have a few years to work on it. And you refuse to believe the scientific communitys increasingly urgent warnings about it. And you refuse to accept that its human-caused.
5) you favor the death penalty. While you yowl that ALL life is sacred!
6) you want more guns. And less regulation or restriction on more guns. For whoever feels like having them. Guns dont kill people, you bleat. People kill people, you insist. At best youre only half-right. People do kill people. With GUNS.
7) you love it when your politicians cut programs that fund the social safety net. You know, the one that keeps the poor, homeless, and destitute from falling through the floor. Because you want that buck-98 tax cut your politicians lied to you about - claiming it would solve all your problems and make you rich like the 1%.
And, seriously, why the hell should you have to be bothered by some stupid do-gooder idea like being your brothers keeper, or being mindful about whatever you do to the least of these? Note: these bastards have even turned the term do-gooder into a putdown. A negative. An insult. So doing good is somehow a bad thing, then?!?!
