The mystery grand jury appeals case (Is it#Mueller?) has ended. Despite the best efforts of at least 14 reporters from all the major news outlets, no one spotted a soul. The mystery therefore continues .....

And that's a wrap, a court employee just walked out of the courtroom area and confirmed arguments on the sealed grand jury matter have ended. No sightings so far (there are ways for people to enter/exit the courthouse that are not public)

We're now allowed back on the floor where DC Circuit arguments were taking place, but the courtroom area is locked and no official confirmation yet that arguments are over. No spottings of note so far (your court press corps is spread out around the building and outside)

The DC Circuit is about to hear arguments in the sealed grand jury matter. They've sealed not only the courtroom, but the whole floor, so we've been moved away. Haven't recognized anyone going in earlier as being connected to Mueller's office, now we won't be able to see
Here's what we know: The underlying grand jury matter was filed in August and there was a judgment in early October (the docket is otherwise completely sealed)

(22,670 posts)But what's the possibility of a sealed indictment in front of a grand jury in D.C. where the whole floor is sealed off being a nothing-burger.
Jr. or Kushner indictments would be awesome to start the weekend though.

(20,686 posts)Anyone know why else they'd seal the whole floor off? Sounds like it might reveal details another case wants kept quiet....who's turn is up at bat? Flynn? Cohen? Maybe Cohen wants to come clean?

(1,990 posts)They are arguing about whether a witness is to be compelled to go before the grand jury or something. There have been rumblings about this "sealed court" matter before. The previous word was that it is related to Roger Stone. Someone that Mueller wants in front of a GJ is trying to have the court rule they don't have to. It seems that this person's testimony would completely tie together something they have other, less compelling evidence for.

(15,539 posts)I never ask for much for Christmas, now do I? So just this once please, please, please give me the present I want most of all this year. I've been a good girl, really I have. Could this be a Trump family member being indicted? Make it so.
Always grateful,

(7,142 posts)It's a pretty big deal to seal off an entire floor. Security was even clearing journalists out of the stairways.
The journalists have spread out across the building to try to catch a glimpse of someone.

(14,173 posts)In that he, as a life long Republican, will feel compelled to open up the investigation, start the next process, while Republicans are in charge of the House still. In order to not be seen as proving he is working for the deep state and 17 angry Democrats, by waiting until the day after Nancy is sworn in as the House Speaker.
I don't know what exactly Republicans could do during their lame duck period if they actually had all the charges and information, but look at what Walker has done in Wisconsin to limit the incoming Democrats. Even if the courts might eventually overturn those kinds of democratic abominations, it throws roadblocks out that will slow down the process of getting justice. That's how they operate. It gives them time. Time to figure out other devious methods, and use all the power of RW media to warp the truth, and promote their talking points.
