I have done a little internet research and could not find how this originated or who runs it. Apparently, Japan is using it and now the US. They have ads on TV that this is "news from both sides". "SmartNews App"
My guess is, it is another way the right wing is pushing their agenda.
Does anyone know what this is?

Neither of these answer your basic question, though - "Who is behind this app?" It's not clear if the makers might have some subtle bias that will show up later or if they are only in it for the advertising bucks.

CNN is way more right than most people think..
ANY media venue that still uses the old "balance" theme is NOT liberal because their set up builds in strawmen to cast doubt ..

(81,261 posts)I already know where I can go to hear the other side. Actually, anywhere. The well, to be fair crowd all over the media world does enough of it already.
Besides, Ive been watching this stuff for years, as a longtime news junkie. Im frankly not that interested in what the other side says anymore. By now I know most of it is outright lies, spin, distortion, misrepresentation, flagrant propaganda, attempted perception management, and other assorted bullshit.

(58,785 posts)claims to draw from "both sides" is going to focus on providing accurate and honest truths to its readers. My best guess would have been the same as yours.
After all, the whole truth we need is without bias, without "side." It's simply truth. How it is presented or hidden adds bias.
