The fiancé? A stranger? The ghost of Jon Benet-Ramsey? Aliens?
What?

(12,153 posts)Actually, I 'm not a member of the NGSS, but...
It's odd that although the fiance hasn't been named as a person of interest in the case, law enforcement took a bulldozer and a backhoe to his house "just to be thorough in our investigation."

(102,119 posts)so, I'd take that as a "yes" on both counts, frankly.
Thanks for that info. This morning I heard that nothing was found on his property. I don't recall how many acres he has. I guess his house was searched too. Hmmm.

(46,020 posts)I'm sure while the Police have assured the fiance that he isn't a (the) target of their investigation, they're checking him out for girlfriends, money troubles, and using cadaver dogs on their property.

Sad.

(488 posts)But as a resident, it annoys me that they've been at it for over a week and she's not even local. (Shes from a city about 15 miles west of Colorado Springs)
I hope they find her but putting her all over the local news must annoy others. See 9news.com as an example. 3 or 4 articles on her and no other local news.

(12,051 posts)Thanksgiving, going into a grocery store with her daughter in a baby carrier. The woman's mother reported her missing TEN DAYS LATER.
Uh, I've got at least a couple of questions here:
Is the BABY missing, too??
If not, where is the baby?
Did the woman live by herself and not see family and fiance for days on end?
Or, did she live with fiance and he never reported her missing? For ten goddamn days? Right before Thanksgiving?
The reporting makes no sense.

(62,444 posts)But you nailed it. Having seen this story roll by in a few forms, it seems that some sort of context or familiarity is assumed.

(12,051 posts)search at her house. NBC isn't a local TV station -- it has a national audience. It's pretty customary for national news sources online to provide a short summary of the event so that readers aren't totally befuddled by the absence of information. But, yes, it would have been helpful to put a link in your post so we would know what you were referring to.
BTW, the fiance did it.

been attacked/murdered in her home. I hate to be right. I wanted her to be alive and to come back to her family.

(16,071 posts)the last time he saw the woman was when she dropped the child off. That's in the CNN article.

(12,051 posts)the baby is OK -- but the baby's father didn't report mom missing? After 10 days? Really? The woman's own mother, who lived in Idaho, was the one to report her missing? WEIRD. And suspicious.
I suppose she could have had a psychotic break and gone off with amnesia or something, but 9 times out of 10, such a woman is found dead. And 8 times out of 10 the murderer is someone she knew.

(16,071 posts)one of those where you can be pretty sure she's dead.
And yet, if she weren't a pretty white woman, the story wouldn't even be in the news.

(12,051 posts)a word. But I confess that I don't watch news channels daily because I can't stand Dipshit's face or voice. I tend to get my news here or at The Guardian, so I often miss "missing white woman" stories.
After thinking about this disappearance, I've come up with another possible reason she's gone -- she had a baby, and maybe she had postpartum depression/psychosis. That's a possibility.
