When the Democrats return from Christmas vacation...

They should move to protect themselves from the blackmail of Mitch McConnell.

McConnell has refused once again to agree to protect the Special Counsel.

In my opinion, Democrats should work to strengthen the House Intelligence and the Senate Intelligence Committees, by holding the members to protecting the secrets of the nation.

Also, in my opinion, they should create a Commission to replace the Special Counsel, for the sole purpose of pursuing this investigation to the end.

They do not know for sure if Bob Mueller will still have a job when they return from Christmas vacation?

Regardless, they should be prepared to create a Commission to continue the Russia investigation. They could make Bob Mueller the Chairman of the Commission, if he is fired in the interim. They could find four retired Senators, people like Gary Hart and Bill Cohen, to be members of the Committee. The Commission would report their findings to the two ranking members of each Intelligence Committee. They could use their discretion in informing the other members on the Intelligence Committees.

Mitch McConnell's blackmail needs to cease. If he cannot even permit a vote, the House should create a Committee to protect our national security.

But McConnell might realize that it is too late to stop Mueller. While I would never count on McConnell making a decision based on the correct thing to do, he might be thinking of what his options are if the Mueller investigation widens to include sitting GOP Senators.

2. Mueller probably knows that between now and January 3rd is a very treacherous time for himself.

If Trump is planning on getting rid of him, it will be in the next two weeks. This is a very dangerous time.

3. Can Trump vacation and obstruct at the same time?

And if he does, what prevents one of the House Committees from hiring Mueller to continue his work for another 2 years, if necessary?
