Is it that all these others around him just happen to be like-minded liars and traitors too? People who will risk it all to stay with him and condone his conspiring with a foreign power, our enemy to boot?

I get being power driven and wanting to keep your job...but this is so far beyond that. Is there a foreign or secret power that has control over them?

It is a strong groupthink.

They have a lot invested in Donald Trump. Nobody likes to give up on an investment.

Vote them out. If they stick with -45 they are likely to lose their jobs too, as more of the public rejects him. But if it turns out mueller proves he is a traitor they will forever more be labeled as supporting a traitor. This seems so much worse.
