SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT A Yemeni mother previously barred by the Trump administrations travel policy from flying to the United States to visit her dying 2-year-old son in an Oakland hospital arrived at San Francisco International Airport on Wednesday night.
Shaima Swilehs son, Abdullah, is on life support at UCSF Benioff Childrens Hospital Oakland. He has a genetic brain condition that worsens each day, and doctors have said its not known how much longer he will live.
This is a difficult time for our family but we are blessed to be together, the boys father, Ali Hassan, said at the airport. I ask you to respect our privacy as we go to be with our son again.
Swileh did not speak.
Swileh received a waiver from the State Department on Tuesday. She had been staying in Cairo, Egypt, because of the White House travel ban against nationals from certain Muslim countries.

I am so ashamed of our government right now. We are rapidly becoming the heartless scourge of the world.
