Trump is totally clueless (as usual) of the consequences of pulling U.S. troops out of Syria.

He's fucking the Syrians and the Kurds who aligned with us. Many people will die.

He's opening the door for Russia to move in with no resistance. Many people will die.

He's giving the President of Syria, Bashar El Assad, a free hand to do whatever he wants to whoever he wants to do it to. Many people will die. (And, yes, poison gas will be involved.)

Isis will come together again, take over towns, and kill, rape, plunder anyone and everyone they want to kill, rape and plunder. Many people will die.

Israel's northern border will be more insecure than ever. Many people will die.

The stupidest fucking man in the world is in the White House. Congress can't stop him. The courts can't stop him. His advisers can't stop him.

Donald Trump will go down as one of histories great murderers.

But today, we produce enough of our own oil to last us until the new technologies (wind and electric power) take over.

Nonetheless, we can't just walk away from the Middle East. We helped to fuck it up and we have an obligation to be part of the solution.

And, yes, that solution may take decades.

But what Trump is doing now is a crime against humanity. And if the Middle East blows up, refugees will flood the world to an even greater extent than is happening now. The ripples will spread and no part of the world will be left untouched.

It's incredible that this one fucking idiot in the White House can turn a terrible situation into an even worse disaster.

the Mid East will explode in flames by March. Couple things that will cause this,Oil and Foreign Control of that Oil. Next is Climate Change is playing for keeps here. Whole populations are on the move because of this. The Saudi's have shut down their Irrigation of Wheat fields because of lack of usable ground water,think about it,their wells are pumping Salt Water. And that is just one example of what is going on.

a quasi-feudal region of myriad territorial conflicts going back generations, overlaid with a thick layer of bronze- and iron-age religious fanaticism, embedded in an era of global commerce and nuclear weaponry. what could possibly go wrong?

America has meddled in the middle east for centuries, sometimes helping greatly, sometimes making things unimaginably worse. and sometimes what looks like real help in one era turns out to be the seeds for disaster in the next. at best, it's been a 2-steps-forward-1-step-back proposition.

now we have the stupidest excuse for leadership our democracy has ever come up with, and it's taking a turn at fucking up what's already massively fucked up in the name of unfucking it.

this will obviously go horribly awry, but it will also mark the true end of American hegemony abroad. our nation's influence has been waning since 2016, and will become even less relevant in the years ahead.

It does not. First, the Russians have had a base there for years and no American president is going to dislodge them from it. How many Americans are you willing to have die to try? People have been dying in the Mideast for decades now. Some, certainly not all, can be laid at the feet of American foreign policy -- which BTW has been totally bipartisan in that area since the end of WW I.

It was not the U.S. --- It was Britain and France who divided up the Mideast according to their interests after WW I. It is those two nations who are responsible for most of the deaths in the Mideast. Not the U.S.
