Most people tune out politics around holidays. So it won't look good on him, but the timing sort of helps him.

That Democrats point out that he is lavishing himself with the finer things in life while the government is shut down. I think they should continue to voice that until trump ends the shutdown. They should also point out that trump said repeatedly that "MEXICO" would pay for the wall, not American taxpayers. They should have someone on the networks pointing all this out everyday the shutdown is going on.

I actually think some milestones and lines for Trump have been crossed. He is in a Narcissistic meltdown, markers came in from Russia, he is in a perpetual bad news cycle, markets are on the verge, and he gains new enemies every day. He is holding hostage and seems willing to kill the hostages.
