WaPo's Josh Dawsey: Trump complained after meeting that Mattis's resignation letter was so negative

Mattis quit in Oval meeting this afternoon, and POTUS was given printed copy of letter. He was seen holding it in West Wing later and complained that it was so negative.

I thought he'd surely start bragging that Mattis resigned because Trump knew so much more about Isis and Afghanistan than he did. Mattis was embarrassed by Trump's superior knowledge and "gut" feelings.

OK, I didn't really think that, but it sounds like something Trump could glean from Mattis's letter of resignation, considering his monstrous ego and all.
