Why do you think trump is pulling troops from Syria and Afghanistan (the real reason)?

Option 1 would indicate an outright crime, and if you agree with that option, then it's important that those of us who are genuinely anti-war do not provide cover for trump's latest set of crimes. Instead of saying, you agree with trump's actions, focus on the fact that it is likely a continuation of an ongoing collusion/blackmail scam with putin. It's just like when trump fired Comey--yes, Comey is a jerk who helped trump & putin steal the 2016 election, but that doesn't mean we should turn a blind eye to obstruction of justice.

I just saw a tweet from my former congresswoman (Cynthia McKinney) praising trump's decisions. I don't know if she's a trumper now or what, but we have to be smart about the way we respond to trump's actions, most of which are done with criminal intentions.

He has been painted into a corner and it’s red meat to his base that he has spent years working on. In many ways he ran as a populist and along with that often comes great fanfare for isolationist policies. Historically, populism is nothing more than a shit show with barbaric results. His base currently encompasses some libertarians and America first white nationalists. This Syria move is tailored for them. Specially since it is a withdrawal not based on any metrics, but more of a policy position based on limiting influence around the globe.

It does serve Putin but I believe that is a secondary bonus for Trump. The Trump administration has a history of backing off the world stage, creating a void for other power players to fill. This isn’t the first time Putin has benefited from Trumps populist/isolationist policies.

Afghanistan is part on a NATO mission. We are looking at withdrawing around 7,000 troops. The UK has been looking at increasing their presence.

It was only May of this year that the Trump administration stated that the Taliban was making a resurgence in Afghanistan. Get that. It is a fight Trump claims he is in to win. Yet he is pulling out of their stongholds.

It’s for his base. The man is delusional. He has a deep need to be liked as he spreads hate and instability.

And pulling American service members out of sitting-duck positions is not going to work out badly for him in the short run, at least.

Mattis is one of the types I think of when I recall Black Sabbath's song "War Pigs". He's not going to die from some Islamoterrorist, but somebody else's son or daughter will.
